Copyright in Multimedia

Media has plenty of advantages but also come with their own disadvantages. One of those disadvantages is when multimedia is copyright and published as a knock off or for personal gain. I recently read an article about a game developer who creates an iOS game on the apple store that is a complete copy of "Super Mario 3D land" but with their own Mario style. This game is called "3D Cartoon Land Safari" and it has a handful of users outraged about this production. Personally, I do not really like that the fact that developers are creating games that are exactly the same but then I think it helps people better their skills and allows more innovation for the gaming industry.
