For DTC students who want to learn Programing

Hey everyone,

I thought I might share this free site for people who want to explore new boundaries of digital technology. This site is new and it is run by donations from people who want to fund for the future generations of programmers.

Programing is the future of the technical language and I believe that this skill is essential if you want to do more with digital technology.I think people should give this site a try, you don't have to be an expert. This site has lessons for a wide variety of programming skills and of any level.

I personally believe that programming is a good skill to learn as it will open up more pathways in design, technology, and innovation.

Multimedia Inspiration

The Most Astounding Fact from Max Schlickenmeyer on Vimeo.

Here I decided to post one of my favorite types of inspirational videos. Personally, I believe multimedia is most successful when it allows you to use your mind. What I mean by that is that I really enjoy videos that make people think about themselves, life, etc. For my video project I wanted to create a video like this but I feel as if it was not as successful as Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Game Developers In Prison

I thought this article was rather interesting. Apparently two employees were arrested in Greece for their development in ArmA3. The Greek police ended up stating that they were being arrested for their involvement in Espionage. In addition, the two individuals were visiting their for awhile. I believe they were visiting so that they can get the proper detail for the island for their game. Greek police say otherwise, they are sentenced for 20 years in prison. The new news now is that they are being accused of taking photos of Greek military installations. Which the two deny, either way, I believe they did nothing bad and were probably trying to improve their game.

A new way of capturing cells

This sort of news really makes me happy when I see research becoming revolutionary. Anyways, researchers in the Netherlands are undergoing the development of micro pyramids to capture living cells. The great thing about these cells in the pyramids is that it will allow us to see these cells in 3D, as well as enable our ability to study the microscopic world. Overall, I am really excited to see where this research takes us and also makes me wonder about all the possibilities that will come from viewing a three dimensional cell.

Game Play as an Art

Evan Roth, an artist, had recently put up an installation that captures the movements throughout Angry Birds. Now I am not really a fan of the series but I thought it was interesting to see an artist take advantage of an interactive game and create something. I also think it is interesting because you get a sense of the repetitiveness of these types of games by visually viewing the motions. It is something different in the fields of art and technology.

United Kingdom as an Anime

I thought this take on art was very interesting. What happened here is an artist designed the UK to appear as a person. It surprises me that they were successful in this. I thought about posting this because it shows a mix of multimedia art from geography and art put together to create something interesting. Note: I was unable to find the artist name who designed this, but I have a link below to see how he created this piece.
